Hello, March! Maybe this month will actually bring warm weather. Fingers crossed because I am done with snow! I had a great reading month again in February. I finished a total of six books!
Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum // 3 Stars // I enjoyed this book well enough, but it didn’t quite fulfill my romance needs for February. You can check out my full review on my blog here.
Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman // 2 stars // On the bright side, I didn’t really think I would like this one going into it. I think the fact that I read this on audio is the only reason it’s not a one star book. More thoughts in my review here.
Finding Love in a Coffee Shop by Jordan Lynde // 5 stars // This was a reread of one of my favorite Jordan Lynde novels. While I was a little let down compared to my previous read, I still loved this book. And since February was a good month for reviews, you can also find a review for this one.
Millions by Pepper Winters // 3 stars // Although this was the conclusion to the Dollar series, it was not my favorite in the saga. There was plenty of action to be found in this finale, but that wasn’t necessarily an aspect I was looking for. I was really satisfied with the last half of this book, and the ending was the perfect happy ending for this couple.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber // 5 stars // I feel like I might get some discourse over this semi-unpopular opinion, but I adored Caraval. I went back and forth between my rating but I eventually settled on this being my first new five star read of the year. I found this book to be so intruding that I constantly wanted to return to my audiobook. The romance aspect was very enjoyable for me as well.
Meet Me Here by Bryan Bliss // 2 stars // There wasn’t anything particularly horrible about this book, but there also wasn’t anything amazing. I feel like this book had the potential to deliver a poignant message but the delivery just wasn’t effective. I didn’t connect with any of the characters and had a tough time connecting with their struggles.
On the Blog
A bit of a slower month at Raine Reads this February. I’m still quite happy with the posts I put out this month.
I swear, if every other month is reading an audiobook at normal speed, then February is that same book at x1.8 speed (too fast for me, but perfectly manageable for some). It just feels like an unreasonably busy month.
Show choir has really taken my free time by storm this month, but I never want it to end. While my Saturdays are completely consumed by competitions, I still manage to sneak some reading in.
School is not showing any sign of slowing down before the end of the year. My school has all sorts of senior activities that will be happening soon. And classes are sure to give me a run for my money this semester.
I’m very happy that February is over! Hopefully, March will be kind to us all and spring will finally come!
Until next time!
