TBRs & Wrap Ups

September Wrap Up

I had such a strange reading month in September. I only read three books this month (a low for the year), but that’s okay. What’s most surprising is how much I read outside of my usual tastes. In some places this worked out for me, and in some it really didn’t.

Sept Wrap Up

Ruined by Amy Tintera // 2 stars // People warned me that this book wasn’t good, and I don’t know why I didn’t listen to them. Honestly, I read Ruined as a stand in for another book because it was the one that I had access to. I’m sure it set this book up unfairly, but I don’t think it would have made much difference. The weak plot and characters that were impossible to connect with really ruined this book.

Until It Fades by K. A. Tucker // 4 stars // This was such a fun romance book! I read this one on audio, which made for some very interesting facial expressions in public (there was so much mushy goodness to smile at). The relationship between the two main characters was so easy to follow, and I liked that it didn’t feel like insta-love. This book was the definition of a slow-burn. Other than that, there were just a few simple nitpicky details that kept this from being a five star book.

Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell // 5 stars // Well, what did I expect from the sequel to Carry On? I had such high hopes for this book, my most anticipated release of the year (mast anticipated release ever). When so many negative opinions started flooding through I got really nervous, but I had no reason to doubt this book. Just as I suspected, Rainbow delivered everything I didn’t even know I needed with this book. I’m so in love with this book.

Here’s what you may have missed on Rain Reads this month! Additionally, my blog celebrated it’s one year anniversary on the 19th!

Life Updates

Well, it’s starting to feel like I’m at that point in the semester where everything is happening at once. Despite the extra stress, I’m still having a great time in school. The amount of assignments and studying I’ve had to do this month  have definitely impacted my reading, but that’s only to be expected. However, I have some really fun reading plans for October (see: a buddy read with my closes friends)!

There’s even more stuff going on in October, but I have high hopes for this month. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Halloween!

Until next time!
